giving back

for those of you who don't know, my day job is in advertising and post-production. nothing makes you feel like you've lost perspective than getting an ulcer over a registration mark in that super tiny type you see at the bottom of the screen.

recently, i feel the strongest need to participate in something that actually helps people. in the time i've spent stressing over the minutiae and fickleness of this industry, i could've helped feed a thousand hungry people, given hundreds of orphans a hug or made a hopefully have difference in at least one persons life.

i am starting my search for a non-profit or multiple non-profits that would let me tag along and put me to work. i want to use photography as a way to help them - taking advantage of that old adage  "a picture is worth a thousand words". i'm also not afraid of getting my hands dirty and am, sadly, conditioned for very very long days. it's overwhelming how many organizations are out there dedicated to making peoples lives better. i want to be a part of it.

just putting it out there.

:)
